Introduction

Air cannot be seen and can only be felt.

It’s important to teach your little one about air as they will begin to understand the world around them and how it is affected by air. It will build skills and processes that are used during physics at a later age and will help with problem solving more abstract questions.

Steps

Talk about air.
Tell your child that we need air to live.

Tell him/her, plants & animals need air too.

Let your child know that air is everywhere.
We cannot see it. We can feel it.

Explain that we can't see air but it exists and occupies space. It has weight and can move.
Blow a balloon & release the air on your child’s face or hand to feel the air.

Blow bubbles with a straw.
Ask your child to wave his/her arms to feel the air.
